Actually I have suspected for a very long time, going back to my youth ( yes, a very long time ago ), that the inhabitants of earth that I was interacting with were quite possibly nothing more than robots.
Repeating words which were undoubtably not their own , and also they were completely under the control of some Central Conformity Command.
Once in a while something unusual would pop up ....... but it wasn't long before it too was integrated into the "norm" . Looks, fashions,thoughts, anything that started out "different" was soon swallowed up into the big media machine. Forrest summed it all up for me one day when I happened to feel that life was just one big, wet , pile of poooooo . "It happens "
